The famous shopping promenade, the Zeil, is great for browsing, as is  the impressive steel and glass structure of the MyZeil shopping centre.

Goethe House, the family home of German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, is a smartly presented historical home and museum. Check out the third floor for paintings spanning the baroque and romantic eras.
