Swindon is a unique British town with a deep history and a range of things to enjoy. Mainly used as a trading point until it became an important hub for Great Western Railway in the mid-1800s, Swindon’s historical roots go back to Roman times and was even mentioned (as Suindone) in William the Conqueror’s Domesday Book. Today it’s a lively town with plenty of things to do and see from high street shopping to cultural site seeing to lovely scenic walks in its public parks. And, of course, there’s the infamous Magic Roundabout!
