I believe hospitality is something that you have to love if you decide to work in this industry.
I booked one room long time ago and then again I booked another room,which by the way when my accosted did not feel well , I was trying to cancel and central booking office frankly explain to me that I can cancel , but I will loose all of my payment ,for 4 nights. So he was forced to come with me and instead go to work at Prowein stayed 1 /12 days in the bad.
But more then that when we arrive at reception there was 2 lady. I am kind of very busy person and unfortunately have no time to remember writing names. One of them was shorter with dark hair . Very helpful and sweet and the second one was tall Blond, complicity opposite.
They told us that our room is ready and we can move in.
Oh got ,this room , sorry to say!!!!
Sometimes when my German suppliers arrive to New York and I ask them to stay near my office in the very commercial ,warehouse area,they saying something about German standard. Most of the motel in New York are better then this first room. Extremely small (if you want to get out of the bath top your feet will end up to be in the toilet and your arm in the sink. Floor in the corridor was open and never fixed ,everything was old and tired.And now more importer fact I paid more then $ 1600 for 4 days , for every room. That little more then $ 400 a night. Come on for this money you can have a room in 5 star hotel in the center of Manhattan or in high season in Sardinia or Provence.
So the dark hair lady as I sad was very sweet and right away she sad we can upgrade to the Junior suit for another eur 50 a night. It takes me 5 minutes to think and talk to my accosted then when I come back to the reception she was occupied with another guest and the the Blond command me to come and see her.
Yes exactly she should be sergeant in the army, not a host in the 4 star hotel.
When I ask first lady if she can do some kind of the discount, as any hotel in the world will do, she told me that she would talk to the central office.
Now I am with the Blond and I ask that same question, and do you know what I herd in return.?
Be glad that you have this offer and take it or in any second that offer will be withdraw and you can even sleep on the street.
Of course I took this room . So now whole right wing of the building looks much newer and more updated and our Junior suit was in the good condition with a normal side bathroom and a good size bad. The only question why blankets where so small ?
Now our first lady become available and she takes care of my third coworkers room in the same wing on the 6 floor. this was exactly a right move from person in hospitality industry.
Other then that we where in the good hand and a specially Dominik Huben . Who was a kind of supervisor and really nice and professional person.
To conclude again I absolutely disagreed with the prices during the fair( and I am traveling for many years to different exhibitions), But I guess if guests are willing to pay , then this is OK.
But for that kind of money we expected a good room and professional service, and yes by the way why in the room with two guest housekeeper only leaving one set of the cheap (made in China) vanities set?
Isn't clearly understandable that 2 man need two separate little shampoo tube ?
