Press Release: Women-in-business movement gains admission to the Leonardo Royal Hotel - Leonardo Women Friendly Rooms for today's businesswoman!

Germany, July 2010 - Women are gaining ground in the business world. “One-quarter of all business travellers are women. In industry circles there has been talk for the past 2-3 years of a women-in-business movement, which also needs to be reflected in the hotel architecture and interior design itself”, explains Andreas Neudahm, Leonardo Hotels' internationally renowned interior designer. Not only do women have larger suitcases, they use hotel rooms differently as well: they expect skirt hangers, make-up mirrors and high-end cosmetic products, lots of storage space, an especially warm ambience, spaciousness, lots of lighting, and the hotel corridors should be bright, have good visibility and be safe.”

The Leonardo Royal Hotels, Leonardo Hotels' superior 4-star brand, are moving with the times and are offering today's woman traveller so-called “Women Friendly Rooms” - special hotel rooms in which the female hotel guest can relax, feel at ease and recharge her batteries. To ensure that women's demands are indeed being met, Leonardo Hotels asked a selection of female guests and business partners what it is they desired from a hotel. The results were then translated into “Women Friendly Rooms” by interior designer Andreas Neudahm.

As Andreas Neudahm highlights: “The rooms are airy and friendly and boast significantly more storage and even a dedicated make-up area. Dimmable lights and a lilac and white colour scheme ensure an especially comfortable ambience. In addition, all rooms are on the second floor so as to convey the sense of safety.”

Gabriele Maessen, General Manager of the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Berlin, adds: “Women make more intensive use of the hotel room than male business travellers. Special amenities such as floral arrangements, women's magazines, Prosecco, sleeping masks, bed socks, a choice minibar assortment and jewellery holders are provided to improve the stay and ensure that a woman feels at home with us.”

“Woman Friendly Rooms” are currently bookable in the Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin. All of the hotel's 346 rooms including suites, the restaurant and the bar and its lounge impress above all thanks to their refined, modern design in a puristic style. A particular highlight is the 4.5 m high, 1,000 m² ballroom capable of accommodating up to 700 people and even vehicle exhibits. Exclusivity is afforded by the modern VIP lounge where an extensive array of additional services such as separate check-in, enhanced culinary offerings and complimentary internet access leave nothing to be desired.

Starting in January 2011, “Women Friendly Rooms” can be booked in Munich as well. The second Leonardo Royal Hotel is opening its doors, offering 424 rooms, including suites, a 1,800 m² events space, VIP and Davidoff smokers' lounge and other amenities. The property is located close to Munich's Olympic Park and BMW World. Outstanding features include the unique lobby design concept with its bar and generously proportioned restaurant, along with the planted patio and water course. There will be much more still to report on the new property.
