Press Release: Northern Light - the new light in the north of Munich
The Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich celebrated its grand opening on 30th April
Munich, 30th April 2011 – Dazzling, spectacular and a feast for the senses! The ‘Northern Light’ grand opening of the Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich was attended on Saturday 30th April by numerous celebrities as well as society, business and media guests. Among the party throng were Marcus Schenkenberg, Shermine Sharivar, Frauke Ludowig, Liliana Matthäus, Claudia Effenberg, Natascha Ochsenknecht, Sarah Kern, Jochen Schropp, Doreen Dietel, Gerit and Anja Kling, Gundis Zambo and many more. David Fattal, CEO Leonardo Hotels, stressed: “This is the second ‘Royal’ in the chain and we wanted to put on a spectacular and stunning opening party with a classy and cool feel, just like the hotel itself. I think we succeeded in doing that. The guests were thrilled!”
With 424 bedrooms, including suites, 1,800m² of space for functions, the ‘Leo90’ lounge, ‘Vitruv’ restaurant, ‘Zino Cigar Lounge by Davidoff’, a VIP lounge and a sauna and fitness zone, the Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich opened in January. A very special feature of the hotel is its unique lobby concept that fuses reception, bar and lounge into an impressive and spacious entrée. Strong, harmonious colours in shades of black, green and red, cove lighting in alternating tones and chic designer furniture create a stylish, cosmopolitan ambience.
The hotel’s bedrooms and suites feature dark wood combined with warm red and terra shades and have air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar, flat-screen TV, safe, desk, telephone and WLAN. Andreas Neudahm, senior interior designer: “Our aim was to create space and room. In line with the Leonardo Hotel motto ‘The Art to Feel at Home’, we want guests from all over the world to feel as if at home.” For modern businesswomen the hotel also provides what it designates ‘women-friendly rooms’ – special bedrooms in which female guests can unwind, feel good and recharge their batteries.
Meeting planners benefit above all from the modern facilities for meetings and functions. Covering over 1,800m², these include 7 meeting rooms (29-188m²), a large foyer (350m²) and a ballroom (732m²) accommodating up to 700 people. Exhibition vehicles can even drive straight into the ballroom. The meeting rooms are highly flexible, impressing delegates with elegant design and cutting edge conference equipment. “Our clients come to us with a clear notion of what they want,” says Jan Heringa, General Manager, Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich. “We ensure that this gets translated into an unforgettable event.” A professional functions team assists with the planning, preparation and running of events, relieving the stress on organisers and ensuring everything goes without a hitch. Where desired, a creative banqueting service is also available to round off every event on the culinary front, pampering palate and soul with tasty delights of Mediterranean and Asian cuisine.
High-level facilities for winding down and switching off are provided, by contrast, by the modern health and fitness lounge: stylish relaxation rooms, modern fitness equipment and saunas make this an inviting place to relax and forget the hustle and bustle at the end of a strenuous day.
