Berlin/Barcelona, July 2015: Leonardo Hotels is setting new important milestones of its expansion strategy. Spain gets incorporated into the portfolio of Leonardo hotel chain with two new hotels at once: Hotel Principal and Leonardo Boutique Hotel Barcelona Sagrada Familia.
The Hotel Principal is in walking distance to the famous Las Ramblas and surrounded by museums, arts and culture. The building exists since 1866 and its warm atmosphere is characterized by Moorish arches, elegant wooden doors and Romanesque styles. All 110 rooms are modern equipped and provide high comfort. Enchanted by the fantastique location, our guests can explore Barcelona and Catalonia with full comfort. Berlin, May 2015: The expansionary strategy of Leonardo Hotels continues to press ahead - Leonardo Hotels will run a hotel in Barcelona from 01 July 2015. The hotel, currently named ‘Hotel Principal’, is situated in one of the top locations in Barcelona: Promenade Las Ramblas in the heart of the city. Berlin, March 2015 – Leonardo Hotels opens its first UK hotel. The group has agreed a new 25-year lease with The Standard Life Investments Pooled Pension Property Fund.
Opening on 16 March in the former Holiday Inn on Bath Road, Heathrow, the 230-room hotel has been re-branded as the Leonardo Hotel London Heathrow Airport. It will benefit from a substantial refurbishment bringing it in line with the distinctive Leonardo Hotels »Look&Feel« that is already well established in a growing number of key European cities, such as Antwerp, Berlin, Bruges, Budapest, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich, as well as across Israel. Berlin, January 2015 – Leonardo Hotels expanded in Munich by acquiring two more hotels for the New Year, hence the hotel chain is now represented at eight venues in the city. Leonardo Hotel Munich City Olympiapark and Leonardo Hotel Munich City Northare new to the portfolio.
