Press Release - The newly opened Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin
is classified as a 4-star superior hotel

Berlin, October 2009 – A well planned, modern design, outstanding service, exclusive furnishings and superior comfort are rewarded: The Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin has now been officially classified as a 4-star superior hotel by the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA). On Thursday, 22 October, Mr Lengfelder (Director General of DeHoGa) and Mrs Vitt (responsible for classification at the DeHoGa) presented the well-earned award to the General Manageress of the Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin, Gabriele Maessen. According to DEHOGA, the “four star” classification awarded to the Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin describes accommodation which meets high standards; the addition of the word “Superior” denotes a hotel at the top of the four-star category which has clearly reached more assessment points than necessary and which offers a particularly high level of service.

The Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin, which opened this year in August, lies in direct proximity to the Alexanderplatz. The 346 rooms, including suites, the lavishly designed restaurant and the lounge bar are captivating, particularly due to their noble, contemporary design embodying austere style. Business travellers can enjoy the benefit of a comprehensive range of meeting facilities covering over 1000m2, a professional business service, the hotel’s convenient proximity to the Berlin Congress Centre BCC and excellent public transport connections. At the same time, guests can relax and unwind in style, in the modern spa lounge, which offers breathtaking views of Berlin’s television tower.

Leonardo Hotels is the European division of the Fattal Hotel group, founded in 1998 by David Fattal. The leading Israeli hotel chain comprises more than 60 hotels. The Leonardo Hotels chain has been present in Germany since 2007; it currently operates 27 hotels in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Israel, and will soon be opening new hotels in other attractive locations. The seat of the company headquarters is Berlin.
