Press Release - Rejuvenated, more modern and more exclusive - the Leonardo Hotel Basel Tel Aviv surprises with new design on opening day

Tel Aviv, January 2010 – After a comprehensive facelift under the direction of internationally renowned hotel interior designer Andreas Neudahm, the Leonardo Hotel Basel Tel Aviv has been showing off its new look since 17 December. The opening gala played host to numerous guests from the economic, social, tourism and media sectors, giving them all the chance to view the new design for themselves. David Fattal (CEO Fattal/Leonardo Hotels) says: “Tel Aviv is the city that never sleeps. This meant it was crucial for us to give the Leonardo Hotel Basel Tel Aviv a new, rejuvenated face. The hotel needed to be like Tel Aviv - dynamic, lively and unique.”

The Leonardo Basel Hotel has 120 comfortable rooms, a bar, café, cocktail lounge and a fantastic restaurant with an emphasis on Israeli cuisine, as well as Mediterranean dishes. In line with the Leonardo Hotels motto “The Art to Feel at Home”, all the rooms have W-LAN access, a minibar, coffee and tea-making facilities, bathrobes, a desk, radio and television. The welcoming atmosphere is rounded off with a modern colour scheme with warm, harmonising colours. As Andreas Neudahm points out: “Everything was designed and made to match, in order to give the hotel its own individual character. In this way, every hotel room, every piece of furniture reflects Leonardo Hotels.”

For business travellers, four conference rooms equipped with state-of-the-art conference technology offer space for up to 150 people. This guarantees the smooth flow of meetings and company events of any type. A particular highlight of the hotel is the beautiful terrace which overlooks the pool and the glorious sandy Israeli beach. Business and leisure travellers alike can relax with a drink against the backdrop of gentle piano music after a tiring day and forget all about the stress of everyday life.

The Leonardo Basel Hotel Tel Aviv is already the chain's second hotel in Tel Aviv. The first hotel in Tel Aviv, the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Tel Aviv, opened its doors in July 2009. The Leonardo “Boutique” brand stands for more exclusive hotels with a personal note that combine lifestyle with exciting design.

Leonardo Hotels is the European division of Fattal Hotels, which was founded in 1998 by David Fattal. The leading Israeli hotel chain comprises more than 60 hotels. The Leonardo Hotels chain has been present in Germany since 2007; it currently operates over 30 hotels in Germany, Belgium, Israel and Switzerland and will soon be opening new hotels in other attractive locations in Europe. The company's head office is in Berlin.
