Our stay was very nice other then the fact that we could not get late checkout due to the fact that the owners were arriving that day. We had specified this request at the time of booking our room and were very disappointed as we are a frequent guest to the Leonardo and always book suites. Other then that our stay was very nice.

I would recommend in the lobby building a plastic wall or glass partition. way too cold to sit in the lobby during the winter

Last week, January 18 to 21st, My wife took me to celebrate my 70th birthday at The Leonardo Plaza Jerusalem. * Firstly, I don't see on the bill that the room rate reflects the promised 20% discount - I believe we are entitled to a rebate. * We were not informed of any of the hotel services - not at check-in and not in the room, and we only discovered by chance that there was a gym on Friday. * Even though we had booked full board for Shabbat, when we arrived at the dining room at 2.00 (lunch is served from 1 to 3) we were told that the dining room was full as there was a Barmitzva party taking over 2/3 of the dining room, and we had to go to the Primavera restaurant. When we got there we were met with a chaotic queue of at least 40 tables ahead of us. As this was totally unacceptable we returned to the main dining room and eventually, at around 2.30 we managed to arrange a table in a very uncomfortable cramped position - next to the hot food serving counter - and every time we got up to get food our cutlery and bread were removed. This extremely unpleasant meal - being served by overworked and abusive staff, guests pushing and shouting for seats and for food - this all left a very bitter taste at the end of our stay. Never before have I had to fight for a table on Shabbat in a 5 star hotel! We weren't able to enjoy our meal at all and it was impossible to sing zemirot. All this was because the manager had booked a Barmitzva celebration without considering the needs of the hotel guests. Why wasn't the Barmitzva made in a marquee? My family and I have stayed many times at the Nirvana, Dead Sea, often when it was at full capacity, and we have never had a problem getting a table for our Shabbat meal. I had intended to book 3 rooms for Shabbat for 9 additional family members - fortunately I didn't! Where would we have sat to eat?! I am sending copies of this letter to the head office of Fattal Group, as I think they need to hear about the gross mismanagement. I am still upset by the whole day which put a very bitter taste on the entire holiday. I stated my complaints already on the visa slip. Please give me your prompt response about the room rate I received and I would like to hear your comments about the chaos in the dining rooms on Shabbat.

Check in gentleman was fine/attentive. We made a mistake about attempting to use your restaurant for Friday dinner--perhaps we interrupted some special event. After seeing multiple soup choices on the menu outside the restaurant, and asking about the soup of the day just inside the restaurant close to the front desk, we were advised there was no soup, and the restaurant person said he would take us to another restaurant section in presumably another part of the hotel. While being escorted out, another worker began to argue with the gentleman escorting us, and we became ignored as they conversed. My wife was not feeling well, just wanted soup and to go to bed without leaving the hotel. During the incident, my wife did not wish to wait any longer for their discussion to end, and indicated she wished to leave. Unfortunately for me, the nearest restaurant was quite a bit further than expected in the chilly, damp air. Needless to say, she was not happy with the scene and this created friction during our final evening in Israel. Up to that point, we had enjoyed Israel in Tel Aviv at the Renessance (sp?)(Marriott). The Marriott desk person was kind enough to recommend and book my reservation on line (I forgot and put telephone on this survey). He thought it was a good hotel in about the same price range. The room was great--thank you for the upgrade. As visitors, we do not presume to criticize your hotel. It seemed popular locally with many diners on Friday night and a fair amount of foot traffic having coffee outside your restaurant and some people inside so your regular visitors can probably provide more constructive feedback. We wish all who helped us luck and we enjoyed our overall trip to your fascinating country, p.s., your staff may have mentioned the advantage club, but we were tired when we checked in and i do not remember. Also, the person in the breakfast restaurant's entrance was pleasant and the waiter kept our coffee cups full (a must!).

I am sure the leonardo jerusalem plzza hotel is the best hotel in Israel, since many years, il appreciate the quality of the service and the smile of Roni the congierge each morning like an invitation for a nice day. I appreciate also the mozart of the the cooks, Chief Kadosh! Since 2 years, I find one default, the orange juice is based by concentraded juice mixed with water, I regret the time when I pressed myself orange and grapefruit. The biggest problem I have with your hotel, I do not understand why le first day, my weight is less than 80 Kilos and when I leave you, my weight is over 92 kilos. So i have 3 months to eat boiled vegetables and fish without fat and sugar if I want to be like before. Thank you chief Kadosh! I appreciate also le back office specially the women speaking french like an inviatation to be in my home.
